Educational Philosophy My educational philosophy is rooted in the fact that all children CAN and WANT to learn, if given the right learning environment. I believe that the learning environment is heavily reliant on the teacher. I have always believed that each child can be successful in school - be it academically, athletically, or artistically. When children are given a stimulating, nurturing, and hands-on learning environment, they become curious and motivated, and that is what fuels inquiry and learning. As educators, we have that obligation to provide this for each and every student.
Students need to be active participants in their learning. While learning the content is important, the students also need frequent opportunities to problem-solve, collaborate, create, communicate, and explore. Students should not just be finding answers but also asking more questions. With exposure and experience doing so, students can develop the skills and mindset necessary for being successful citizens in the 21st century and global society. |
